A second person has been killed in Storm Eowyn after a tree fell on a man's car. Police in Ireland said the man died as a tree fell on his car as the storm battered County Donegal. Gardaí (Irish police) said the man died at about 5:30am this morning. A Gardaí spokesperson said: "At approximately 5.30am this morning 24th January, 2025 Gardaí were alerted to a serious road traffic incident at Feddyglass, Raphoe, Donegal. Subsequently Gardaí and local Emergency Services have attended the scene where during Storm Eowyn a tree fell on a car.

"A male driver, was fatally injured during the incident. The body of the deceased remains at the scene at this time. Gardaí are working with local authority and third party contractors to facilitate the removal of the remains of the deceased from the scene.

"N14 remains closed at this time. Forensic collision investigator and divisional scenes of crime have commenced investigation at the scene. Investigations are ongoing.". The death comes after a 49-year-old man was killed in Irvine, south west Glasgow, by falling roof tiles, the Daily Record reported. His family have been informed about the death by Police Scotland. One neighbour said of the death: "The first I heard was when the police knocked at the door about 10:30am.

"I heard it happened at about 6:30am. They didn't say much but I believe he was found lying under the archway. On any other morning I would have been out and would have seen him.". Another added: "The police came round and asked a few questions but they didn't say anything about who the man was. My son called me to say they'd heard the man had died. I don't know who he was.".
