The Chase viewers slam ITV as they call for 'warning' before episode

The Chase fans were left disappointed by Wednesday's (29 January) episode of the ITV game show. Just moments into the programme, many viewers took to social media to issue the same complaint about the show. As the episode got underway, fans of The Chase were quick to note that it was not actually a new instalment of the game show, but simply a repeat. However, ITV had advertised the show as 'new' in the TV listings, leading viewers to be disappointed and calling for a clearer warning.
Many took to social media to point out the huge blunder, with some even taking aim at ITV in their comments. "Get your act together ITV, this episode was only aired about a week ago ffs..... #thechase," one TV fan wrote on X. A second added: "NEW #TheChase Don't think so. This is a repeat!! @ITV garbage.".
A third show fan wrote: "Just turned on...probably already been noted, but this 'new' The Chase, is definitely a repeat #thechase," while a fourth agreed, commenting: "This episode of #TheChase says New, yet it was on so recently I knew what the contestant was going to say before he said it. #repeat.".
"If this is a repeat, can anyone remember if it's worth watching? #TheChase" a fifth joked, and another said: "Course it's a repeat. Knew I'd heard Jon's story before.". Elsewhere in the episode, host Bradley Walsh revealed his unexpected connection to one contestant. He met Rachel, Sian, Noel and Jon, who were all looking to take home the cash prize.
Bradley did a double-take as Jon came up to the podium for his cash builder round, admitting he found him familiar but couldn't quite pinpoint where he recognised him from. Jon revealed the pair had played in a charity football match together 20 years ago, leaving Bradley surprised.
