In a departure from the UK version, there was a Traitor war brewing almost immediately between Rob ‘Boston Rob’ Mariano, Danielle Reyes and Carolyn Wiger, which has sparked explosive scenes and tense gameplay. The instalment began with Big Brother’s Derrick Levasseur and The Challenge star Wes Bergmann gunning for Rob and attempting to oust him at the roundtable, but he effortlessly averted suspicion onto the latter.

Sadly, Wes’ defense wasn’t quite strong enough and he was banished from the game – but not before getting a parting shot at his fellow castmates, fuming: ‘I’m one of the greatest reality competition players of all time. Quantitatively, I’m better than everyone here. ‘How you win these shows is you are aggressive, and you play hard. I wanted nothing more than to come out here and be a Traitor, because I don’t care about any of you. You are all chess pieces on a board.

‘And to all those people that have died, until I got to this circle right here… I have no idea who killed them, because I’m a faithful.’. Flashing his middle finger, Wes yelled: ‘F**k all you guys,’ before storming out of the room, stunning his co-stars into complete silence. While the Traitors should have been celebrating getting yet another Faithful out of the game – and ‘one of the greatest’ players of all time, in fact – the mood in the turret was anything but happy as the Traitors immediately turned on each other. Slamming his fellow players, Rob called them both out for abandoning the agreement to play as a team, which fell apart when Carolyn voted for Danielle, who then voted for Rob.

Carolyn turned her attention to Danielle, slamming her for ‘throwing her name out’ to other players, fuming: ‘Of course you’re going to go after Rob, the same way you’ve been planting seeds about me. ‘Why would you do that? You know what you’re doing. It’s not only that you were putting my name out, you were making up lies that I was coming for Britney [Haynes].’. Baffled about the ‘disastrous’ direction their game was going in, Rob admitted that he had no idea how to move forward, with Carolyn insisting: ‘We’ve just got to go after Danielle.’.

Fans watching on from home were living for the scenes and immediately flocked to social media to unpack the jaw-dropping episode. Taking to Reddit, Ok-Wrangler9747 said: ‘That might have been one of the most crazy and messy turret meetings I have ever witnessed.’. NotYourFriend-YT agreed: ‘Just watched the episode, and I am *SHOOK*. This has gotta be some of the best reality tv I’ve ever seen.

‘The awkward silence when they take off their hoods like, “welp, yeah I guess we really do just wanna muder eachother” was priceless [sic].’. ‘This is by far the best season of any version of The Traitors,’ Sandwichgode praised. ‘This season is just so chaotic because these traitors are such wildcards and chaotic. I love how Boston Rob is like what the F#$% is going on with these traitors lol…’.
