Summary at a Glance

Elizabeth Holmes has denied having a second child to delay the start of her prison sentence, insisting that she 'always wanted to be a mother.'.

Holmes had once modeled herself as the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs and won widespread acclaim – including from Harvard University and Time magazine – for a phony technology which she claimed would revolutionize blood-testing methods by using miraculously tiny volumes of blood, such as from a finger prick.

The disgraced Theranos founder, 41, shares two children with partner Billy Evans - three-year-old son William, and two-year-old daughter Invicta.

At the beginning of her sentence, Holmes collected milk in a plastic bag for her newborn, which was then stored in a freezer until visitation.

She was convicted on four counts of fraud and conspiracy following a high-profile trial in 2022 and began her 11.25 year prison sentence on May 30, 2023 – three months after the birth of her daughter.
