To qualify for the Tower Hamlets Winter Fuel Payment, you must be a Tower Hamlets resident, born before September 23, 1958, and not receiving Pension Credit, or any other benefits that entitle you to the Winter Fuel Payment.

This extra help by Tower Hamlets has been funded by the Household Support Fund, which is a scheme that allows local councils to award specific help to residents who are behind on bills, or on low incomes.
The money is being awarded to eligible residents of Tower Hamlets Council, which has set up its own version of the Winter Fuel Payment.
Winter Fuel Payments are now restricted to pensioner households that are in receipt of means-tested benefits, such as Pension Credit.
