Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter is already eyeing up a return to the soap a month after giving birth. The actress, who plays Theresa McQueen on the Channel 4 soap, is currently on maternity leave after welcoming her second child Peony in December. Jorgie, who is also mum to two-year-old son with fiance Ollie Piotrowski, told OK! magazine she’s looking forward to getting back on set – possibly with a tiny guest.
She said: ‘I love working, I’ve been doing it from such a young age, and I did Hollyoaks and Dancing On Ice at the same time. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video.
Up Next. ‘Obviously it’s not as easy having a baby too, but maybe I’ll ask them if I can just bring Peony to the show and then ask the costume department if they can just hide her!’. Jorgie, 37, has played Theresa on-and-off since 2008, and made her most recent return in January 2024.
Her character then temporarily departed over Christmas to accommodate Jorgie’s maternity leave, leaving the village with returnee Nanna McQueen (Diane Langton). Earlier this month, Jorgie revealed the name of her newborn – Peony – and the adorable reason behind it.
‘We’d not heard of anyone with the name Peony and I love the flowers, they’re so beautiful’ she told OK!. ‘But we were literally desperate to tell people her name before someone else had a baby and chose it before us!. ‘We didn’t give her a middle name because she’s Peony Porter Piotrowski which is already quite a lot for a kid to say, isn’t it?’.
