In cold weather, it's common to find your windows covered in condensation each morning, a result of warm indoor air meeting the cold surface of the windowpane. However, the additional moisture can lead to unsightly and harmful mould around your windows, prompting action to avert it.

One homeowner decided to test out three recommended techniques to eliminate window condensation, declaring one as the definitive victor. TikTok user DoingUpMyHome shared her experience: "Have you got condensation on your windows? With the cold weather comes the likelihood of condensation on the inside of your windows. It's not a good thing to have in your home as it can turn to mould so I searched for a hack to fix this problem.

"I tried three different hacks over four days and the winner was this - washing up liquid on a clean, dry microfiber cloth." She demonstrated pouring about a 50p-sized dollop of dish soap onto the cloth, then meticulously wiping down her entire window pane and frames.

She explained: "Wipe it a few times so that there's no film left on the windows and it worked absolutely brilliant. The main thing here is that it lasts about two weeks so it does need to be redone." Impressed by the success of the method, she applied the same hack to her bathroom mirror to prevent it from becoming foggy after hot showers, and joyfully reported optimal results.

Sharing her variety of attempted tricks, she went on: "I did try the bowl of salt (20% effective) and sodium bicarbonate (80% effective). But the washing up liquid hack worked 100% on my windows." A user chimed in on her video: "I don't get this anymore thank god since moving into an A-rated new build.".
