A defendant who didn't show to her court date taunted police on her own wanted appeal - before being found hiding beneath a pile of children's toys. The 22-year-old, whose name has not been released, brazenly commented "hey guys" on the Facebook appeal after failing to appear in court for three counts of an emergency worker, drugs offences and theft. Officers later discovered her at home in Fallowfield, Manchester.

She was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer and remained in custody for questioning on Friday, Greater Manchester Police said. Body-worn video from the arrest on Thursday, January 30, shows officers uncovering the woman hiding underneath piles of children’s toys. An officer is heard communicating with others, saying “she’s here” as he lifts toys off of her body. She is then heard groaning before the officer shouts “get up now.”.

GMP’s detective inspector Natalie McDonald said: “We currently have a woman in custody being questioned by detectives thanks to the swift actions of our officers. "We want to thank everyone who engaged with our post, it ultimately helped us to locate and arrest this woman and we have dedicated teams of officers across Manchester who are actively seeking and arresting those who are wanted.”.
