Katya Jones made her support for Wynne Evans very clear after he was axed from the Strictly Come Dancing tour. The GoCompare advert star and Welsh opera singer has been under fire in recent days after it was revealed he made a hugely demaning swipe at tour host, Janette Manrara during the launch in Birmingham. He later issued a grovelling apology but it appears that this was the last straw for the 52-year-old.
When Janette walked over to the group. He sang out: "Go Compare," before adding: "Not too close to Jamie [Borthwick]." He then used vile term "spit roast" in reference to a lewd sexual act. In a statement, Evans told the Mirror: "My language was inappropriate and unacceptable, for which I sincerely apologise.".
But Katya, who is partnered with Wynne on the tour and had been on the live shows, has appeared to show her support for the scandal-hit star who is rumoured to have been axed. In view of her 252,000 followers on Instagram, she made her feelings very clear.
Sharing a snap of the pair, Katya said: "Thank you for the non stop laughter @wynneevans." This isn't the only show of support for Wynne, from Katya. Over the weekend after the scandal broke, she re-shared a post on her Instagram, originally posted by Love Island's Tasha Ghouri as she, Katya, Wynne and Jamie Borthwick sat in a bar, relaxing.
Captioning her re-share, Katya penned: "Tour fam," along with a red-heart emoji. But now, Wynne has reportedly been given the boot from the ongoing tour. A source told the Sun: "He's had repeated warnings about his behaviour and told to rein it in. He's not been taking it in, in this day and age the BBC have to be seen taking action and safeguard everyone. He's had a tough time with the death of his brother and people should give him some slack, he is going to take this time off to do some self reflection.
