A woman has shared the hilarious reaction of her grandma after she arrived home following her first ever visit to a Tesco supermarket. Granddaughter Inca took to TikTok after capturing the moment just before Christmas, which saw her gran enter the room and declare: "It was so gross." Using her arms to express herself, she continued talking about the supermarket, as she exclaimed: "They had trolleys that were like this with beer, buns and more buns and turkeys.".
With a look of trauma on her face, she added: "I just said get me out of this place! They didn't have anything. It was so disgusting!" Inca clearly is a fan of the retailer, however, telling her grandma in response: "Oh we love Tesco!" She also quipped in the video's caption: "Aldi next time then.".
The clip has since gone viral amassing more than 225,000 views despite Inca's modest following of under 4,000 TikTok users. Most comments saw people poke fun at the gran's apparent "privilege" with one mocking: "Omg sounds truly horrific, just imagine the scene, people with full trolleys because it’s Christmas. Oh please, I just can’t bear it.".
Another joked: "Assuming she's a Waitrose girlie." A third attempted to imitate the gran's attitude: "…and then I mingled with the great unwashed, couldn't get near the gin, they had a weeks shop piled up of frozen burgers. It was ghaaaastly Tarquin. Then I woke up. Nightmare'.".
Whilst a fourth laughed: "Tesco is no place for an icon like this!" Some people didn't see the funny side at all though. One TikTok user said: "People I serve at the food bank would be beyond grateful to be so 'disgusting'." While another added: "God I’m so glad this isn’t my Grandma…she would never speak this way. Too classy.".
