Meghan Markle really is starting 2025 with a bang! First came the relaunch of her Instagram account, followed by the trailer for her new lifestyle series With Love, Meghan on Netflix - and now fans think she is set to announce another major project. After the Sussexes' $20m deal with Spotify dramatically fell through, Meghan signed up her Archetypes podcast with Lemonada Media in 2024. And the company has now shared an exciting new update.
A post shared on Lemonada Media's Instagram page this week reads: "We are SO Back! With new episodes of Fail Better, Boneheads, Pop Culture Debate Club AND MORE coming out this week, which podcast are you excited to listen to this week?". It was accompanied by a collage picture of some of their podcast signings - including Meghan's Archetypes. "More from Meghan?" one follower enquired, while a second added: "A new Archetypes ep would be lovely." A third wrote: "Looking forward to Meghan's podcast.".
Harry and Meghan initially teamed up with Spotify in 2020 when they signed a lucrative $25million (£19million) deal with the giant streaming service. However, the partnership with Spotify came to an abrupt and sudden end in 2023 after the couple produced just 12-episodes of one standalone podcast, Archetypes, which was hosted by Meghan.
The show saw Meghan chat with different celebrity pals, including tennis icon Serena Williams, legendary singer Mariah Carey, and socialite Paris Hilton. Spotify and Archewell Audio released a joint statement in June 2023 saying they had "mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together". But sources close to Spotify said the royal couple did not meet the productivity benchmark required to receive the full headline payout from the deal, having only produced one 12-episode series, the Wall Street Journal reported.
