As the chill sets in more and more, you might have noticed a thin layer of condensation on your windows when you wake up. If left unchecked, this moisture could lead to mould growth around your window seals, causing a host of issues. It's best to nip this problem in the bud as soon as it appears. However, wiping down your windows every morning can be a chore.

Thankfully, cleaning experts and fans of Mrs Hinch have shared an alternative solution to tackle condensation - and it could cost as little as £1. In a Facebook group, one person sought advice from fellow cleaning enthusiasts: "How can I prevent this much condensation? We get it on both bedrooms windows, they're drenched every morning!.

"We wipe the windows every day and crack the windows and have these moisture absorbers, any tips are welcome!" The common response was to invest in a dehumidifier, which helps extract moisture from the air, preventing it from accumulating on the windows.

Electric dehumidifiers that plug in and actively remove moisture from the air are available, but they can be expensive to buy and run - not ideal if you're trying to keep your winter bills low. But bargain hunters, take note - you can snag disposable dehumidifiers for a steal – just £1 for a two-pack at Poundshop.com, which works out to a mere 50p each.

A savvy commenter on a Facebook post recommended: "A dehumidifier will help massively." Echoing the sentiment, another advised: "Invest in a dehumidifier. Unfortunately happens in the winter months on most houses." A third was amazed by the results: "I bought a dehumidifier and was surprised how much water it collected.".
