Stephen Mulhern has made a huge announcement about his future on Dancing On Ice. The popular presenter, 47, has hosted the show alongside Holly Willoughby since last year after former presenter, Phillip Schofield, parted ways with ITV after he admitted lying about his relationship with a young runner on This Morning.
Stephen, who has a host of ITV spin-off shows under his belt, has proved to be a popular choice with Dancing On Ice viewers and now he's revealed he's going to take to the ice for the series finale in a move he admits could be "dangerous". Speaking about his ambitious plans for the show, he told This Morning's Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley: "I’m practicing to skate. I’m going to try and get to the end of the series and skate on the last show. But I’m telling you now, it is so hard. People don’t realise how hard it is. I know Strictly is an amazing show, but Dancing on Ice is very dangerous. When you go to an ice rink at Christmas, you just laugh at people falling over.”.
When asked by Ben if he planned to get his skates on for the live finale, Stephen said: "Fingers crossed." However, when asked if he'd be taking to the ice with a rendition of Olympic judges Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill's iconic Bolero, he joked: "I'm not going that far!".
Stephen seemed to be the obvious choice to present Dancing On Ice alongside Holly after the pair hosted Ministry of Mayhem together 20 years ago. Paying tribute to his co-host, who herself was not certain to return to the show after she quit This Morning following her stalking nightmare, Stephen took to social media with a clip of their kids TV show saying: "Unbelievably, the first ever Ministry of Mayhem aired 20 years ago TODAY! I loved the years doing this with @hollywilloughby! We’ll be back on your screens this Sunday, live at 6:30pm, doing something just as slippy…".
