‘Emotionally devastating’ new Keanu Reeves sequel gets near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score

A star-studded animated sequel has gone down a treat with fans, as it currently commands an almost-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. Fans were sent into a spin when it was announced that Keanu Reeves had joined the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as Shadow. He appeared alongside Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Krysten Ritter, Idris Elba, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and Shemar Moore, while Jeff Fowler served as director.
The movie was released in cinemas today, and follows the beloved Hedgehog attempting to thwart revenge-filled Shadow from destroying the world. Despite only being on screen a matter of hours, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has been met with huge praise from fans and critics alike, and has an audience score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to a critics rating of 88%.
Heaping praise on Jeff’s efforts on the platform, Dark A commented: ‘A gorgeous love letter to all Sonic fans, especially Sonic Adventure 2 fans! 10/10, will be seeing again.’. Yaoi I agreed: ‘Genuinely an unforgettable experience. The highs are so high that I can’t think of a moment where I wasn’t on the very edge of my seat.
