The University of Miami's newest golf recruit was asking the tough questions to PGA stars Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler as well as their LIV counterparts Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka on Tuesday outside Las Vegas. Kai Trump, the 17-year-old high school golfer and granddaughter of the president-elect, interviewed all four linksman ahead of an exhibition dubbed, The Showdown. And everything was apparently fair game as the future Hurricanes golfer asked about everything from Scheffler's arrest to McIlroy's putting woes.
'Today I'm here with?' Kai asked, making the four-time major winner introduce himself to her social media followers. Her Instagram followers immediately picked up on the humorous tone of the interviews and responded by comparing Kai to her grandfather, Donald.
'She's funny!!' one commenter wrote. 'Got Grandpa's straight faced humor!'. 'This is great!' another added. 'Love the questions and deadpan asking of the tough ones! Ha ha.'. Trump seen asking McIlroy about his putting woes. He would go on to drain a 40-footer.
Kai asked Scottie Scheffler about his arrest in Louisville, which he described as 'boring'. To her credit, Kai was unflappable while speaking to the golfers about some of their most sensitive issues. For instance, Kai asked about McIlroy's collapse at the 2024 US Open, where he bogeyed three of the final four holes by missing a few easy puts en route to a second-place finish behind DeChambeau.
