Ferne McCann makes statement on Dancing On Ice return after 'b*****s' voting twist

Ferne McCann has revealed she is coming back to Dancing On Ice following her jaw-dropping exit on Sunday. The former TOWIE star, 34, became the second celebrity to get the boot from the ITV show after being denied the chance to save herself in the skate-off. In a new twist for the popular programme, the skater with the lowest number of votes from the public automatically gets eliminated meaning there's no chance for a second shot on the ice. However, many thought Ferne "was robbed" after she said her goodbyes yesterday.
Taking to her Instagram Stories today, however, the mum-of-two said she and daughter, Sunday, would be coming back to Dancing on Ice. Showing the remains of the purple paint in her hair following her colourful Trolls performance, Ferne revealed: "You'll see us back for the final where we'll be supporting everyone.".
Thanking everyone on the show and those at home who had voted for her, she continued: "I just want to say a big thank you to everyone. Dancing On Ice is such a magical show and I really did have the best time." Admitting she was now looking forward to a lie-in - although 'probably wouldn't get one' with baby Finty - Ferne signed off after going on the school run for Sunday.
Ferne's departure sparked particular outrage as Sir Steve Redgrave had finished bottom of the leaderboard for the second week running but had still progressed thanks to the voting public. Taking to X to express their disappointment at the result and urge ITV bosses to reinstate the skate-off, one fan raged: "So have I got this right? The skate off is dropped so there's no danger of keeping a competent skater in, its just down to who's most popular not who can skate? Well done, great idea!! #dancingonice.".
