Ahead of the film's release, the actress revealed she didn't need to watch the film as the experience was enough for her. Speaking on Q with Tom Power, she expressed: "It was an absolute pleasure making this movie and actually I didn't care to see it. "When we were done, I was so happy with the experience, I was so grateful and I was so gorgeously in love with what we had made that I was like, 'I don't need to see the end result'.

"This was enough, this was the gift and as it happens, I'm now proud of the result. I will forever be grateful for what this movie gave me.". The movie's official synopsis reads: "Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield) are brought together in a surprise encounter that changes their lives.

"Through snapshots of their life together – falling for each other, building a home, becoming a family – a difficult truth is revealed that rocks its foundation. "As they embark on a path challenged by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of the unconventional route their love story has taken, in filmmaker John Crowley's decade-spanning, deeply moving romance.".
