A 28-YEAR-OLD woman who's in a relationship with a 53-year-old has insisted they "don't even notice" their age gap. Cara and Kerensa are due to tie the knot in August, and have been documenting their romance story on their TikTok page. But having such a big age gap does open them up to criticism and judgement, with people even mistaking Kerensa for Cara's "nan".

However, the pair do their best to ignore the haters and concentrate on their love for one another. "Like everyone we do get trolls on TikTok," they told Fabulous Online. "However, you have to be strong and ignore the haters because we’re the ones living our age gap relationship - it works for us and we’re both the happiest we have ever been.

"On TikTok we often get 'is that your daughter?' or 'is that your nan?'.". Another situation which infuriated the pair was when they went to a wedding fayre, and everyone assumed it was "Cara getting married". "The people showing of their stalls would automatically assume it was Cara getting married, and hand her bouquets to hold," they sighed.

"When we would have to say it was us both as a couple to almost everyone, this got very annoying.". The relationship was the first gay romance for mum-of-four Kerensa, and the first time Cara had dated an older woman. And because of the taboos often surrounding an age-gap romance, the couple were somewhat nervous about what their family would say - especially as Cara is the same age as Kerensa's youngest daughter.
