TV personality Jeremy Clarkson is offering fans the chance to cough up £85 for his 'non-advent calendar' that celebrates not cutting back on booze in January. With Christmas and Boxing Day out of the way, many Brits will re-evaluating their relationship with alcohol after a boozy season. Some will opt for a month off the drink once New Year's Eve is over and complete Dry January - a concept that sees someone go the entirety of the month without a drop of booze.
But Clarkson, who owns a pub and brews his own lager, has found a way to capitalise on the initiative launched by charity Alcohol Change. The millionaire businessman has launched a cheeky 'non-advent calendar' for January, targeting those opting to not give their liver a rest next month.
His 'The Not Advent, Advent Calendar: Damp Edition', priced at a hefty £85, is packed with 31 doors bursting with boozy treats from his low-alcohol range, topping off with a hefty bottle of 40% vodka. Booze lovers can sip their way through 16 cans of Hawkstone’s 0.3% Spa lager, enjoy 15 cans of 3.4% Hawkstone Breeze lager, and pop open a 70cl bottle of Hawkstone vodka by month’s end.
Boldly declaring "January is rubbish, your drinks don’t need to be", the back of the box spells out Clarkson's disdain for a dry start to the year. Alongside this damp delight, Clarkson's tipple team at Hawkstone offers a dry version at the same rate. Those opting for a sober month but still wanting to spend some money with Clarkson can sup on 31 cans of Spa lager and still toast the month's end with that vodka victory lap.
