Karren Brady insists 'you're odd if you like firing people' - after sacking West Ham manager

She doesn't have to let anyone go on the show, but The Apprentice advisor Baroness Karren Brady recently fired the West Ham manager. And she admits away from the fun of the BBC1 series she makes with Lord Sugar, pointing the finger at people like coach Julen Lopetegui is not fun.
Ask how she feels about firing someone, she said: "Well, it's never easy, and it's never anything anybody relishes. I think if you do, you're a very odd person in real life. I mean, you know what Alan has to do as part of the show and the format, and people know when they go into it, but that's how it happened.
"But in real life, it's very tough, and it's not a decision you take easily, and if you do have to do it, you do it with grace, and you do it in the proper way, and you do it professionally.". Earlier this week the Mirror reported how Lord Sugar felt some young people lacked drive and wanted to work from home or take two hour lunch breaks. But Baroness Brady admits she has got her work life balance better as she has got older, perhaps because she is now established in the business world and has proven herself.
She said: "When I was starting out in business, over 35 years ago, the phrase work life balance had not been invented, and Alan and I are from a generation of people where nothing compensated for the hours that you put in. And you started on the bottom run, and you worked your way, you know, right up as high, as high as you could, to the top run. Whereas younger people today want a much better balance in their life, they want to enjoy what they do, but enjoy their life as well.
