Liam Payne's family believe that justice may be "possible" after his death. His heartbroken loved ones spent their first Christmas without the musician almost three months after his tragic death. The former One Direction singer tragically died aged just 31. He fell from the third floor of a hotel. An autopsy ruled that Liam had died instantly after his fall which caused "multiple traumatic injuries" and subsequently led to "internal and external hemorrhage.".

Almost three months later, five people have been charged in relation to Liam's death, including his friend, Roger Nores, who in new court documents filed in Argentina, he is listed as the "victim's representative", being identified by his initials, RLN At the time of his death, Nores, a businessman denied being Liam's manager and insisted he was a "very dear friend" of the singer.

But following the court hearing, those close to Liam are believed to be one step closer to seeing justice served for the Wolverhampton-born megastar. Roger Nores could face one to five years behind bars if convicted. Prosecutors had been seeking Nores' indictment on a more serious claim, namely abandonment of a person followed by death as well as a drugs supply charge, which carries a sentence of between four and 15 years behind bars if convicted.

Speaking to The Sun, a friend of the family said: "It's been a very difficult Christmas for them but they now just want justice for their son. Finally, after a horrific couple of months, there is a feeling like this could be possible." Prosecutors in Argentina, where Liam died, allege that Mr Nores was "criminally responsible" for Liam's death, saying he failed in his duty of care responsibilities. The prosecutors claim he "abandoned" Payne, "knowing that he was incapable of caring for himself, knowing that the accused suffered from multiple previous addictions – to alcohol and cocaine – and having full knowledge of the state of intoxication, vulnerability and helplessness in which he found himself".
