It was another whirlwind year on and off the golf course in 2024. Away from the action the saga surrounding the PGA Tour and LIV Golf went on, with talks surrounding the proposed framework agreement continuing. Away from the politics though there were moments to remember across all of the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV circuit, not to mention the major championship stage. On the PGA Tour the year once again belonged to Scottie Scheffler, whilst Rory McIlroy took home a sixth Race to Dubai title on the DP World Tour.

When it comes to the breakaway circuit, Jon Rahm's maiden campaign with Greg Norman and co was one to remember, as the Legion XIII captain became LIV's individual season-long champion at the first time of asking. With all that in mind, the Mirror Sport team have handed out their 2024 awards for those competing at the top of the game.

Josh Lees: Joaquin Niemann - Usually, Joaquin Niemann's season would not see him regarded as a 'dark horse', but if his Official World Golf Ranking is anything to go by, he falls into that category. Niemann was only bettered by Rahm on the LIV circuit, having won twice in 2024 in Jeddah and Mexico, which included a remarkable round of 59.

He also impressed away from the LIV league too, and this was recognised with an invite to play this year's Masters, before he signed off with a win at the Saudi International on the Asian Tour. Sam Frost: Nick Dunlap - Not only did the 21-year-old become the first amateur since Phil Mickelson more than 30 years ago to win on the PGA Tour, but he backed it up with another victory after turning professional. He is one to watch with Ryder Cup selection in mind.
