The year 2025 is shaping up to be a blockbuster bonanza, with Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning leading the charge as the most anticipated film, according to a survey of 2,000 adults. Fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for Tom Cruise to deliver another heart-stopping performance as Ethan Hunt in what's expected to be an explosive finale to the spy series.

Hot on its heels is Jurassic World: Rebirth, the latest roar from the dinosaur franchise, and Avatar: Fire and Ash, which continues James Cameron's visually stunning sci-fi saga. Other titles stirring excitement among cinema-goers include 28 Years Later, adding to Danny Boyle's chilling post-apocalyptic narrative, and the adrenaline-fueled Fast and Furious 11.

Jake Ashton of OLBG, the firm behind the research, underscored the hype surrounding these cinematic giants: "Avatar: Fire and Ash is the early favourite to smash the $1bn (£974k) mark at the box office.". He added: "The previous two films in the franchise both went above and beyond, hitting the $2bn mark (£1.58m) making them some of the highest-grossing films of all time.".

Ashton also suggested that Jurassic World: Rebirth could replicate the financial triumphs of its forerunners, eyeing the $1bn milestone achieved by the earlier instalments. Yet, he cautioned against overconfidence, reminding us of Joker: Folie a Deux, which fell short of expectations despite the buzz it generated prior to release.

The study shed light on the cinema-going habits of Brits, revealing that one in five individuals visit the cinema every few months, while 15% attend monthly. Furthermore, 20% of respondents intend to increase their cinema visits in 2025, contrasting with the 10% who anticipate reducing their frequency.
