Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk 'expected' to agree same decision on Liverpool future

Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are both expected to extend their Liverpool stays by two years, according to reports. The duo have been pillars of the success at Anfield and remain as integral as ever with the Reds top of the Premier League. Salah in particular has been in scintillating form, but his form has come amid the uncertainty surrounding some of their biggest names.
Van Dijk, Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all out of contract in the summer, leaving them free to negotiate with other clubs from January. Liverpool though have moved to rid of that possibility and David Ornstein reports both Van Dijk and Salah will eventually pen new two-year deals.
Agreements have yet to be reached but dialogue between the two parties continue as the financial aspects of the deals still need to be ironed out with no announcement thought to be imminent. The news comes despite Salah constantly suggesting he was edging towards the exit door. The Egyptian is now into his 30s but is still at the peak of his powers, scoring in their latest win over West Ham, where he admitted there was still a long way to go.
Quizzed on his future Salah confessed: "No, we are far away from that [contract] and I don't want to put anything in the media. The only thing on my mind is I want Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of that. I will do my best for the team to win the trophy. There is a few other teams catching up with us and we need to stay focused and humble and go again.".
