Outnumbered star Ramona Marquez reveals she was “catfished” by someone impersonating her on-screen mum and dad. The actress, who plays Karen in the BBC sitcom, was duped by the online fake who had set up a profile as her telly mum Claire Skinner. She only realised she’d been chatting to a fraud when she spoke to Claire, who stars as Sue, on set.
Ramona, 23, explained: “We were talking about Instagram and I said to her, ‘You recently joined Instagram.’ She was like, no I didn’t. I was like, what? But I’ve been talking to you’ I was having conversations with this catfish person.”. Outnumbered favourite Ramona said she’d also been sucked in by someone pretending to be TV dad Pete, played by Hugh Skinner, too. “There was Hugh too who said he liked to play golf," she went on. “I thought. ‘That’s nice, them messaging me.’ But it was a weird old man, wasn’t it?”.
The chaotic Brockman family were back on Boxing Day with a festive special, with 3.6million tuning in eight years after the last one. Fans were particularly excited to see Tyger Drew-Honey, 28, Daniel Roche, 25, and Ramona who play the siblings Jake, Ben and Karen. They were 11, seven and six years old when the show began and now are now all in their twenties.
The Brockmans faced some difficult news with dad Peter revealing he has prostate cancer. He reassured the concerned kids that the prognosis was good and how he’ll undergo a routine operation. "The good news is that they’ve caught it early and I’m fairly likely to be fine, but I’ve been diagnosed with prostate cancer,”" he said.
