We all know it's vital to keep our cars spick and span but, let's face it, we're often guilty of letting things slide. Cars are often jam-packed with old food wrappers, empty drink bottles, damp gym gear – you name it, it probably contributes to some serious odours inside your vehicle. However, fret not if your car has started to smell a bit, as there's an easy fix that won't break the bank.
TikTok's Lefty Vlogger has come to the rescue with a brilliant 35p cleaning hack straight from the kitchen cupboard. He shared: "I don't know who needs this but, if your car is having some funky smell, put a cup of white distilled vinegar in your car.
"Let is sit for a few hours or while you're at work. Then just let it air out while you finish cleaning your car. The smell is gone.". This savvy advice has clocked over 2,000 views, sparking a host of comments from intrigued followers, with questions and praises flying in.
One concerned car owner posted: "I left a dirty diaper. Now it smells like a dead person or rat, will this work?". Others were quick to express their amazement, with one saying: "Amazing." Another said: "How long does it take to get rid of cigarettes?". Someone else commented: "So I dropped a cup of milk on my backseat and, in the beginning, everything was ok, but after two to three weeks it stinks. Does this work with milk?".
If you're unfamiliar with this trick, and wondering if it actually works, white distilled vinegar can be used to eliminate and neutralise odours in cars due to its natural deodorising properties. All you need to do is pour a small amount into a bowl, and leave it inside the car to absorb smells.
