Tired-looking Strictly star Wynne Evans has emerged for the first time since it was reported he was warned by the BBC after making an "unacceptable" crude sexual comment to his co-star Janette Manrara. The Welsh opera singer has been on the Strictly Live tour with his pro partner Katya Jones, but the Go Compare ad singer pulled out of the Glasgow date due to injury. But when Wynne, 52, took part in a photocall for the launch of the tour in Birmingham, he was filmed making a crass joke.

Wynne has been issued a stern warning from the BBC, who said the broadcaster does "not tolerate such behaviour", with Wynne going on to put out an apology. Following the fresh scandal, and with Wynne sustaining an ankle injury, he broke cover on Instagram Stories, appearing tired after being reprimanded by the BBC.

Addressing his followers, on Saturday night from his hotel room in Glasgow, Wynne looked pale with bags under his eyes. He said: "Ankle’s getting a bit better, it was great to be able to sing in Glasgow tonight, even if I couldn’t dance, hopefully back tomorrow. But watch this space, I’ll let you know in the morning. See how the swelling goes down, and all that kind of stuff, thanks for all the lovely messages, amazing.".

Other photos showed him arriving at his hotel for the live date. The star gave the waiting photographers a thumbs up, but his smile looked slightly forced. The comment in question was made as he stood alongside JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri, Shayne Ward, Montell Douglas and Jamie Borthwick. Host Janette, 41, walked to join the celebrities for a promo shot. When Janette walked over to join the group, he sang out: "Go Compare," adding: "Not too close to Jamie.".
