A pub renowned for its highly sought-after Sunday roasts witnessed a booking frenzy as it filled up its entire calendar of reservations for 2025 within minutes. The Bank Tavern on Bristol's John Street opened its diary for bookings just a couple of days into the new year, and a mere 13 minutes later, all slots were swooped up.
The team took to Instagram to express their astonishment and said: "2025 Sunday lunch is fully booked. You crashed our website, and everything went in 13 minutes.". They expressed gratitude to their patrons and added: "Thank you for your continued support of our pub—this is a bit mental. If someone cancels a booking, it automatically reappears as a slot on our website, so keep checking periodically. We look forward to welcoming you all this year!".
Just moments after the reservation book was thrown open, their Instagram stories revealed that the pub's website was 'lagging and struggling to keep up due to high volumes of people trying to book Sunday lunch'. Punters were urged to be patient with an apology: "Please bear with us. We are aware of this and are working to fix the problem. Please keep refreshing and trying.".
Fans of the eatery's legendary roasts quickly flooded the comment section, each sharing their joy over securing a coveted spot or voicing their disappointment at missing out. One patron exclaimed, "That's insane... hopefully, I will secure a 2026 roast.".
