Conor McGregor sent warning ahead of potential fight with Jake Paul

Former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez has seemingly cast doubt that a clash between Conor McGregor and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will take place. McGregor - a former two-division champion inside the cage - has not fought since suffering a gruelling defeat to long-time rival Dustin Poirier back in 2021. After breaking his leg in the trilogy showdown with the 'Diamond,' the Irishman has been preparing for his anticipated return to action.
The 36-year-old was due to make his comeback earlier this year against former Bellator champion, Michael Chandler. However, McGregor was forced to pull out of the contest after suffering an injury in training. Despite the urge to compete inside the famous UFC cage once again, the Irishman has opened the door to blockbuster showdowns in the boxing ring.
The Irishman is fairly vocal on social media and recently opted to call-out WWE superstar, Logan Paul. Taking to X - formerly known as Twitter - McGregor wrote: "The rumours of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon." Reports later claimed McGregor is in fact negotiating a fight with Jake.
Despite appearing to be open to a clash with Logan, McGregor has been back-and-forth with his younger brother Jake over the years. A clash with 'The Problem Child' in the boxing seems more realistic. That said, McGregor's former opponent, Alvarez, has revealed it'll be difficult for the Irishman to get permission from his parent company, the UFC.
