Fortnite Renegade Raider returns to the Item Shop – how to unlock the rare classic cosmetics

Fortnite's dedication to OG just got even more palpable as it rolls out the red carpet for returning cosmetics, including the iconic Fortnite Renegade Raider skin. Fortnite is enjoying another touch of nostalgia as Fortnite OG content keeps on coming, with players from every era of the Battle Royale title keeping busy. Gone are the days where players rush in for an OG season and rush back out again when it’s over, as OG is a full-time staple of the Fortnite experience now – but this sheer amount of nostalgic gameplay has had some dedicated classic players worried.
The game has established its own economy by now, and its earliest skins that haven’t reappeared in the game’s Item Shop since make for incredibly lucrative Epic Games accounts, with players developing a black market for buying and selling accounts packed with rare cosmetics. Silly as it may sound, there’s real money to be made by players who were locked in from day one, and nothing is to say that skins from the Chapter 6 Season 1 Battle Pass couldn't reach the same heights in the future.
That rarity has come into jeopardy though, as Epic Games has revealed a massive new section in the Item shop that has created some huge reactions – but modern players are loving it. Here’s what you need to know about the return of the Fortnite Renegade Raider skin.
In a shocking twist, a collection of cosmetics featuring the Fortnite Renegade Raider skin has appeared in the Item Shop with an old-school means of purchasing them. The items can be purchased with V-Bucks, but they can only be bought by players once they’ve passed a threshold of XP starting from today, December 20, much like the now-defunct Season Shop that appeared in Fortnite.
