Brussels sprouts are bit of a divider in many homes across the UK, they have their lovers and their haters. But there is a delicious recipe that could mean even people who shun the sprout might be tempted to give them a go. A foodie TikToker @emilycooking_ shares recipes with her 158K followers and has been teaching people how to have a showstopping Christmas with exciting treats and new takes on some classic flavours. In the mix is her smashed crispy parmesan Brussels sprouts, which she said could be a great side for Christmas dinner or a festive snack.
Emily said: "Golden, crispy, cheesy and just so tasty! A new way to make your Brussels sprouts this Christmas, have it as a side or snack, you won't be disappointed. You can also add bacon to it.". She said you only need five items to complete the recipe and, in the video, shared a step-by-step guide. She said: "What you need - seasoning of your choice, Brussels sprouts, butter, grated parmesan and some baking paper!".

To make the smashed crispy parmesan Brussels sprouts, Emily said: "Clean and wash your Brussels sprouts. Boil some water into a pot and add some salt. Add Brussels sprouts and boil until slightly soft! Run under cold water, drain and dry with a paper towel then leave to cool.
