Oscar Hartland, known as Neil the Baby from Gavin & Stacey, has spilled the beans on his plans now that he's hung up his iconic role. The 15-year-old star talked about bidding farewell to the character he's played since 2008, having graced our screens one last time in the highly anticipated final episode of the BBC hit on Christmas Day.
James Corden and Ruth Jones came together once again to deliver an ending for the cherished cast, rounding off their stories in a special reunion episode. Appearing on ITV's Lorraine on the morning of January 3, Oscar chatted about where he sees his career heading after belting out 'Blackbird' during the show finale, showcasing his vocal talent.
Discussing his future with host Ranvir Singh, he shared: "It's a bit of both [acting and music]. I'm really opened minded to some movies, some TV shows and stuff. The music is always there. I'm writing every night.". He expressed his deep gratitude towards James and Ruth saying, "Ruth and James have given me a huge platform and I couldn't be more thankful. They've given me the space to show people what I can do which I'm really, really thankful for.".
Fans had their hearts set on a wedding between Smithy (James Corden) and Nessa (Ruth Jones) following the cliffhanger proposal five years back. But the finale pulled a twist, revealing the nuptials were actually for Smithy and Sonia (Laura Aikman), his girlfriend from the 2019 Christmas special leaving viewers with mixed feelings, reports Wales Online.
The latest special dropped a bombshell that Nessa's earlier proposal was cut short by Gavin before Smithy had the chance to answer, and they never revisited the conversation. Fast forward to 2024, on the wedding day, after a series of mishaps, best man Gavin spills his guts to Smithy mid-ceremony, confessing he thinks marrying Sonia is a blunder.
