Reality TV star Gemma Collins has announced her plans to become a farmer, admitting that she's now 'more normal than ever'. The Only Way Is Essex star intends to convert some land at her Essex home into a farming paradise. Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, she revealed: "I've got land and I have to keep some of it as greenbelt, but I'm hoping to turn some of it into a farm. There are rules, but it should be fine.".
Gemma, 43, already has quite a few animals at the converted barn, which she shares with partner Rami Hawash. They include five chickens, an Italian greyhound, a cat and a dog. She added: "I love animals. I want to get some rescue animals and make my home into a farm. We want to get some llamas.".
Away from the glitz and glamour of showbiz, Gemma's real life is much more grounded than her TV persona seen on popular shows like Dancing on Ice and I'm A Celebrity. She confessed: "I've gone more normal than ever. The other night I was looking after the chickens and watering my plants. We have beehives in the garden. I've been growing my own vegetables for three years.".
Despite her farming ambitions, she isn't ready to give up her celebrity status just yet and has her eyes set on becoming a soap actress. She dreams of landing a role on Coronation Street, being a huge fan of the show. The star openly expressed her aspirations to join the world of soap operas, enthusing about Coronation Street: "It would be amazing to be on a soap one day. I'd love to be in Corrie. I recently met Claire Sweeney and I think she's hilarious, so I could go on the cobbles with her.".
