Dancing On Ice viewers were up in arms on Sunday night as they felt the judges were out of control with their voting. The 2025 competition has barely begun - with the eleven couples down to eight after two couples were voted off and one dropped out due to injury. But fans think the judges on the show have become too generous with their scoring - with one couple in particular receiving high scores in scenes that aired on Sunday night.

The judging panel on the ITV show consists of dancer and choreographer Ashley Banjo, former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse and Olympic legends Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill. And viewers felt they were in a generous mood when it came to scoring Towie star Dan Edgar and his skate partner Vanessa James. Ashley and Oti both awarded the duo 8.5 while Jayne and Christopher both scored 9 - prompting wild cheers from the audience. Show host Stephen Mulhern gasped: "It’s the highest score of the series 35 out of 40! Big scores. Nana Rose, over there, there she is. How are you feeling about that, Dan?".

And Dan responded: "You know what? I’m so grateful to have been able to recreate that story. I’ve had a really nice week and hopefully I’ve put a smile on my Nan's face.". But viewers took to social media to slam the scoring - arguing that the judges had been far too generous. One viewer wrote on X: "9s in week 4 is kinda ???? Like where are we gonna go for the rest of the series? We’re gonna be hitting nothing but 40s from week 6 at this rate #dancingonice.".

Others had been unimpressed by Dan's efforts, with one writing: "Did we watch the same thing? There wasn’t no emotion in that, it just left me feeling meh #DancingOnIce." And another typed: "For the love of God. What even is the scoring on this show now? In the past that would have gotten 6's, 7 at a push. Why not just go the whole hog and give everyone a perfect f**king 10 permanently. #dancingonice.".

Others noticed that Dan's nan looked unmoved by the performance, with one writing: "Nanna Rose didn't think it was a 9 either #DancingOnIce." Another typed: "Dan's Nan didn't look impressed? #dancingonice." And another shared a screenshot of Rose looking devoid of emotion, quoting Dan to comment: "'I hope it put a smile on my Nan's face' Nan's face.". Later in the show, Love Island star Chris Taylor and his partner Robin Johnstone, who replaced injured Vanessa Bauer, landed scores of seven or higher from the judges - even through he and Vanessa fell a the beginning of their routine. Christopher excused the mishap and congratulated the pair for getting up and carrying on without missing a beat - but viewers were less forgiving.

One wrote on X: "these scores?? he fell omg????" Another blasted: "Who's fault was that stumble? Chris or Robin?" Another typed: "HE FELL OVER IMMEDIATELY #DancingOnIce." And another wrote: "This feels a bit of a chaotic mess! #DancingOnIce.". Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads.
