Jake Paul drops Conor McGregor bombshell after UFC star's Logan claim

Jake Paul has claimed Conor McGregor wants to fight HIM - but has switched his attention to brother Logan. McGregor took to social media earlier on Tuesday to claim he has agreed to an exhibition boxing bout against the elder Paul brother in India next year. While Logan has yet to respond to the claim, his brother Jake, who beat Mike Tyson in a professional bout last month, has spoken out.
He claims McGregor actually wants to fight him, but Jake won't agree unless the UFC, with whom McGregor is under contract, is involved. Paul said: "Now it all makes sense why Conor McGregor and his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us. As we told them them privately and I’m now saying it publicly…the only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing/MMA fight is if Dana White/UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are ok with discussions. Conor is washed. Needs the Pauls. Logan by however he wants.".
McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg in the first round of his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier more than three years ago. Last month he was found liable for the assault of Nikita Hand at a Dublin hotel in December 2018, leaving his fighting future up in the air.
But the Irishman took to social media to play down rumours he will take on UFC featherweight champion Illia Topuria next month - and will instead face Paul. . "The rumours of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon," he said.
