Emotional scenes aired on Love Island as Scott Thomas announced he would be leaving the South African villa. The 36-year-old has been coupled up with Tina Stinnes and all seemed to be going well, until recently. In recent episodes, he expressed some doubts towards his feelings towards the Made in Chelsea star, as he decided his time was up. Tina and Scott first met during their first stint in the villa in 2016, where Tina entered as a bombshell. Although she wanted to get to know Scott, he was firmly locked in with his now ex-girlfriend, Kady McDermott. It was a different story when Tina entered as a bombshell eight years later, as Scott's head well and truly turned away from India Reynolds. India ended up becoming the first Islander to be dumped after Tina chose to steal Scott during the re-coupling.

In today's episode, Gabby spoke with Tina about her and Scott's coupling on the terrace. Tina admitted: "I always have a little doubt that what happened last time is gonna happen again…" Gabby then said: "I just feel like you deserve more than what he’s able to give you… I don’t want you to waste any more time on waiting for him to decide whether you’re the one or not, you’re too special.".

Later, Tina and Scott spoke, and she told him: "If there’s something missing, I think I just need to know whether there is progression in this?" Scott says: "Something is holding me back from going to the next level…I want to give you that, but I can’t if I don’t fully feel it. You fully deserve that." Tina agrees: "I do.". Afterwards, Tina was upset, and the girls comforted her in the dressing room. Elma said of Scott: "You’ve had two blinding birds and there’s something missing for both of them, what do you want? Is no-one gonna tell him [Scott] cause I will…" Scott overheard this and said: "Elma, come and tell me…" The two argued over Scott’s decision as the other Islanders take sides.

As he gathered everyone around the firepit, Scott explained: "I don’t want this to be sad because I’ve had the best time ever, but I've made the decision to leave and I think it’s the right time. I don’t want everyone to be sad, I’m in a good place about it.". He then hugged Tina and apologized before leaving, with fans left devastated. One wrote: "Everyone behind u scott." Whilst another penned: "This poor guy did nothing wrong and was honest all the time. Who the fluff is Elma to demand he tells her why he didn’t feel enough to continue with Tina. Well done Scott." A third added: "That's sad. Scott didn't lead anyone on, he was honest. Wish he'd stayed and been supported better, many people have found a connection later on.".

And a fourth wrote: "Not sure he could do right from wrong? Was honest and that was wrong and had he faked it that would have been wrong also! Some people want the truth until they hear it?". Prior to his departure, he pulled Tina aside for a chat to reassure her to move forward without him. In an earlier chat this week with Gabby, Scott said the feelings weren't progressing and he didn't want to hurt Tina. “Isn’t it funny how someone can tick all the boxes but then still not be quite it?” Gabby said, before Scott said he needed to have a word with Tina.

As one Islander leaves, another one enters. Friday night also saw the arrival of bombshell Omar Nyame. The star featured in the last series of the ITV2 dating show, alongside Grace Jackson. Although the two didn't form a connection in the villa, rumours began swirling that they'd started 'flirting' on the outside. Asked if he had 'unfinished business' with Grace before his arrival he said: "I’ll see how she's going and see if there's anything there. That’s all I can do, explore things and see what happens." However, Omar also has his eye on Catherine, who he also took out for a date.
