The release of Netflix's latest nail-biter, Harlan Coben's drama Missing You, has got fans talking since it debuted on New Year's Day, with their verdicts quite split down the middle. Rolling in just a year after the roaring success of Michelle Keegan's Fool Me Once, which snagged the title of Netflix's most-watched show of 2024 with a whopping over 100 million global views, this latest collaboration with Coben looked set to smash records. But instead, it has met with mixed reactions from the audience.
Netflix managed to intrigue her followers yet again with their synopsis: "Missing You is a limited drama series about Detective Kat Donovan (Rosalind Eleazar), whose life is rocked when her fiance Josh (Ashley Walters), who disappeared eleven years ago, suddenly resurfaces in strange circumstances.".
Critical situations unfold as the blurb continues, explaining how Kat becomes embroiled in more than just one perplexing case. It reads: "While Kat investigates the case of a missing person, Josh's reappearance forces her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father's (Sir Lenny Henry) murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.
"Missing You sends Kat on a personal journey as she turns her policing brilliance inwards, unravelling her own life and those around her. "Despite the big twists and shocking turns, Kat's journey is one of emotional grounding as the viewer follows a fearless and intelligent Detective as she is forced to confront one of the most traumatic and vulnerable moments in her life.".
