ITV viewers were left scrambling for answers after a question left them baffled whilst watching the 1% Club. Presenter Lee Mack revealed a tough brain teaser, which involved numbers, to the dazed contestants. He asked participants to try and solve a mathematics question, with no clues at hand. The game show not only tests how smart the players are, but also offers them the chance to bag a staggering £100,000. According to the show, only one per cent of the country can get the answers right, depending on the difficulty level. This particular question was marked as 1% and required the audience to turn on their quick-thinking skills. Players were asked to solve the tricky equation within a short span of 30 seconds.

In the old footage, Mack asked the contestants: "Given that: 0 + 100 = 100, 1 +99 =100, 2+98 = 100. What is the sum of all the numbers between zero and 100? The audience at home tried to guess the correct answers after the video was posted on TikTok. Many people guessed 4,950 or 5,000. However, both of those are incorrect.

Some players boasted and said it was "common knowledge" and said the answer was easy to work out. "Another easy one, got two wrong tonight," said one person. However, others joked that they might need to go back to school. Someone else wrote: "I said 5,000. I was gutted thought I was so clever until I realised I was wrong." In response, the profile who uploaded the video said: "Happens to the best of us." Another user commented: "I don't even get the question." A third person said: "How did I get 100… I’m failing GCSEs chat.".
